This Privacy Policy describes how READme Later ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the READme Later mobile application and related services (the "Service").
Information we collect
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authenticate you with a one-time code (OTP) sent by email via Convex Auth.
- Content you save: Article URLs, titles, extracted or imported text (including from PDFs), images, reading progress, favorites, summaries, translations, and language preferences you store in the app.
- Subscription data: If you purchase a subscription, we receive product identifiers, transaction status, and related details from Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat so we can verify your Premium entitlement.
- Device and usage data: Basic technical information needed to operate the Service, such as app version, platform, and error logs. On-device preferences (for example theme and layout) are stored locally on your device.
- Offline copies: To support offline reading, the app may store article content and PDF files locally on your device.
How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and sync your saved articles and PDFs across devices.
- Authenticate you and secure your account.
- Fetch web article content (via scraping services) and process text with AI providers to clean, summarize, and translate articles.
- Manage Premium subscriptions, restore purchases, and respond to support requests.
- Improve reliability, performance, and security of the Service.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers that help us run the app, including Convex (backend and data hosting), email delivery for sign-in and password reset codes, web scraping providers used to fetch articles, AI providers used for cleaning, summarizing, and translating content, and payment platforms (Apple, Google, and RevenueCat) for in-app purchases.
- Legal requirements when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Data retention
We retain your account and saved content while your account is active. You may delete individual articles in the app, or request deletion of your account and associated content by emailing afumagic3@gmail.com or visiting our account deletion page. Some records may be kept as required for billing, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Offline copies remain on your device until you remove them or uninstall the app.
Your choices
- Access and update account information in the app.
- Delete saved articles and PDFs at any time.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple or Google account settings (or the in-app manage subscription flow).

Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International users
Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to this processing.
